The absurdity of this particular program and its announcement was that the “Powers that Be” understood the language utilized in their own RFP was too difficult for the average minority agricultural cooperative members to grasp — Hence the need for assistance in hiring a translator to submit proposals.

I sat in on the USDA conference in D.C. last August when this particular grant program was rolled out, and thought to myself , “what a waste”. They have written and awarded a grant for the sole purpose of intervention on their own RFP announcements!

Did I sign up to be one of the intervention specialists? You bet! The requirement? You must have a strong enough grasp a “minority language”to translate it to “Propaleese” (within the allotted number of pages).
